WWG of GA Election Time !
As communicated in the recent past, we are moving elections for the Board of Directors from January to November. The election will take place at our regularly scheduled meeting on November 14.
Whether you have served before or not, whether you are a long-term member or just joined, please consider working on the Board, even if just on a part-time basis.
• Too busy? So is everyone else. Not a lot of your time is required.
• Can’t make all the meetings? Not a requirement. Very few positions need to be at every meeting, some not at all.
• Don’t know enough people in the Guild? Neither did anyone else until they served on the Board. That is probably the best benefit of being a Board member – number of friends you’ll make.
• Not confident in your woodworking skills, knowledge, tools or equipment? Practice makes perfect. I started with little more than a desire to make sawdust and have something usable as a result. Woodworking has made me a lifelong student (and bargain hunter).
• Not sure we can use you? All of us have skills and talents beyond woodworking - bookkeeping, writing, photography, training, sales, marketing, outgoing & good with people – to name a few.
• Not interested at this time? The Guild is your Guild, and you have a stake in its status and future. Every member adds value, every member is a mentor, every member is a rich source of good ideas, and every member can help in some capacity to make us better. You make a difference!
Anyone with an interest in any Board position, or helping part-time, please contact John Nielsen 770-434-3812 or Gary Fader 770-977-7271.
Following is a Brief description of 3 Board positions now available for Your Consideration:
